Weekend/ Embassy/ First Sunday/ NAIA/ AHS Fair/ Birthday Madness

You don't know how much I hate this Geog Camp. Of all the dates kasi, why does it have to be on February 2-3? Why does it have to be this weekend? Damn it...why on these dates?

Being in this camp means being absent on a lot of events here in Manila.

First, I won't be with my cousins at the AHS Fair this Saturday.
Cousins, join the gyudon-eating contest. galingan nyo!

Second, I won't be able to bring in Tita Ayeen to NAIA this Sunday.

Third, I won't be able to attend to that Foo thing at the Embassy this Saturday. Sorry Karl and Mich. Nakakahiya. I committed to them weeks before that I'd go with them.

Fourth, I won't be with Elisha for our First Sunday mass routine. Saaacred yun eh!

And last, it is my damn BIRTHDAY this Saturday for crying out loooooud!
I won't be able to attend the traditional dinner. Ma, ate, pam, tita...ikain nyo na lang ako.

Worst thing is, I'd spend a considerable part of my birthday warming my seat on the bus, stuck in the vexing, one-of-world's-worst Manila traffic, then mountain climb. And tell you what, that's definitely not, and certainly will never be, my idea of celebrating my birthday. Appalling would be an understating word.

In all these...I can do nothing. And my things are already packed up anyway. aahh..pitiful...

Late NY Resolution

So I'm blogging my new year's resolution only today. Quite late huh. I've been drafting this list for the last two weeks. And believe it or not, I just finished it right now. It's plain crazy. One day I'd feel like 'hey, i wanna change this thing' then the next day I'd feel like sticking with that thing for the rest my life. Plain crazy indeed.

Anyway, kung ano-ano nanaman sinasabi ko ba't di ko na lang kaya diretsuhin sa resolution no? hmm...

1. Go to the GYM and workout my ass off (Yeah.)

2. Less carbs, more protein. (Hirap nito. Rice meals and bread w/ nice milo spread ARE my life.)

3. Save money (I've been including this on my resolution year by year but damn. Why is it so damn hard to save? Uggh. So here I am again trying my luck again on Thrift Department this year. Damn Damn and again Damn.)

4. Cease my dormancy (cant be straightforward man! haha...)

5. Get myself into the dean's list (huuwaaw. taas ng dreams.)

6. ..... Cant be straightforward!

7. Renew church commitment (Ayos to! Jesus Christ rocks! )

Feasible naman no? Whaddaya think?

whatta day saturday

This day's fun. Today's dad's birthday. And we had this mini-celebration. But the celebrant is not with us. He's in Riyadh. Weird setup. But we got to connect via YM nonetheless. And for that I owe YM and those behind it a lot. hehe...

This day's a pain in the ass as well. I ate a lot today, effectively offsetting any workout that I did for the past two weeks. WTF. Now I'm back to zero. uggh..

In Memoriam: Edmund Hillary

I've just read this sad news about the death this morning of this great mountaineer, adventurer, and explorer. New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary together with his sherpa were the first known climbers to reach Mount Everest on May 29, 1953.

Later on in life, he became a philanthropist and an environmentalist as well. His efforts came into fruition, as many schools and hospitals were built in the Himalayan region.

Happy Centennial, UP!

I think everyone who had been/ is a part of UP share the same feeling that I feel: PROUD. The opening celebration war really, really great. It showcased the best of UP. Last Tuesday 10:30am, I was still having my class in KOM 1when members of STAND-UP went to the class to announce the forthcoming gathering of students from all UP units 2:30 that afternoon.

I was dying to go but alas, I had to attend some errands back home and rush a greeting email for my friend in Madrid. Damn. The reasons why I wasn't able to personally witness the the opening centennial celebration in all its glory and grandeur. Nagkasya na na lang ako sa tv news and internet pics. Pakshet. I should've been there. Ugh. Ayoko namang mapagalitan dahil sa di pag uwi ng maaga.

No. Actually I could go home from school anytime. Tanda ko na no. It was just on that particular day, January 8, my errands piled up that's why I had to dismiss my illusion of going there, even I was dying to.

But anyway, I've seen some pics and vidclips of the celebration. Ok na. I'm not that disappointed.

So there was this chopper from UP Manila tossing confetti from the sky above the cheering crowd. UP units of Los Banos, Pampanga and Baguio each showcased cultural performances with their respective contingents behind. And Ryan Cayabyab was at the concert. Philippine Madrigal Singers, UP Orchestra, UP Symphonic Band, and the UP Pep Squad also graced the event.

The concert ended with the singing of UP Naming Mahal, then followed by the 30-minute fireworks display. And boy...I saw the magnificent fireworks from home..hehe house's just near UP Diliman. Hanep ang fireworks..pang-pyrolympics.

Well, I could say that the organizers didn't disappoint us. I'm pretty sure they spent a lot for such grandiloquent celebration.

University of the Philippines once again reaffirmed its position in country's education: the best..and of course by giving the best. Full blast na ang celebrations umpisa pa lang!

Mabuhay ka Ka Oble!

hate classes.

Never in my life did i love first day classes after christmas break. So you do. Right? Right. And dammit. Tomorrow's classes again and you don't know how much i hate it. Got lots of school stuff to finish, yet. Basta...I'm not just in the mood of going back to school.

Last Christmas break had been really fun. So laidback. I got used to waking up at 12 noon. I used to that eat, pc, sleep lifestyle for the last two weeks. And I don't wanna go back to the busy, fast-pacing school life ROUTINE. Read: ROUTINE NOT LIFE. Damn talaga. Ayoko talaga. I know i sound weirdie and crap but then hey, who wants to go back to school anyway?

Tsk tsk.
